Walking through each day without a clear guide, an accurate map, and a consistent light source is hazardous to your well-being. Fortunately, God's Word provides us with the tools and help that we need.

I have electricity in my home, but if I don't plug into it, I don't see the light. I have Jesus in my heart, but if I don't plug into Him daily, I won't see His light either, even though it is there. I have to connect with Him. Talk to Him. Worship Him. Spend time with Him. Bask in His radiance like bathing in the sun. Become so familiar with His illumination of my soul that I immediately recognize any counterfeit.

Oswald Chambers says, "Intellectual darkness comes through ignorance; spiritual darkness comes because of something I do not intend to obey.

When we find ourself in the dark, we must stop what we're doing, look for His light, and listen for His voice. If He is directing us, yet we ignore it, fail to see it, refuse to do it, run from it, don't comprehend it, or deliberately disobey it, we will be miserably lost. We have to be still and know that He is God. We have to reach out to Him and He will give us a sense that He is there.

Teach me to not only know Your truth, but to live in it. In

Know that we never have to walk in darkness. Even when we get into dark times or dark situations, God's light is always there to be found!

Obedience to God's Word begins by being determined to make no compromise with His ways. It requires a clear understanding that God's rules and laws are for your benefit, and for you to do all you can to live by them.

Put on the Word like a protective garment every morning. Speak the Word, pray the Word, live the Word, and let it live in you so it becomes part of your armor.

Almighty God, help me to know Your laws. Teach me Your Word so that I understand it better every time I read it. Give me insight into Your ways so that they become part of me. Speak to my heart if my thoughts, words, or actions start getting off the mark. Keep me on the right path so that my prayers are never detestable to You.

When we wrap God's truth around us, it protects us by strengthening our core being.

Lord, I turn to You for all wisdom, direction, and guidance. Where I must seek advice from another person, help me to know when that person speaks from godly knowledge and when this is not the case. Help me to always test the input of others with Your Word. I want You to be my ultimate source for all knowledge.
