Faithfulness in our Christian walk requires order, some black-and-white fundamentals, but within that order is glorious room for color and creativity.

I believe strongly in a fourth reason to study David. Simply stated, he's in the Bible. You see, Bible study saved my life. I believe studying God's Word has enormous life-enhancing value. In many different ways I have benefitted from spending time in God's Word.

If anyone walks during the day, he doesn't stumble, because he sees the light of this world. John 11:9

Lord, You are my lamp; the Lord illuminates my darkness. 2 Samuel 22:29

He will teach us about His ways so we may walk in His paths. Micah 4:2

If knowing God is not your chief motivation for prayer and Bible study, the last thing I want you to feel is guilt. Creating awareness is my goal. Awareness is always the first step to freedom.

Just take the next step. I'll show you what to do from there." During so much of this walk with God, we feel blindfolded. Certain seasons are pocked with such random events that we decide all is helter-skelter. Other seasons seem so illustriously orchestrated that the ties between events are like streamers of spun gold. From the very beginning, God geared the faith walk to be relational, not informational. The latter was always intended for the sake of the former.

We miss one of life's most awesome experiences if we don't see God's Word stand up under our trial. He wants to show us it works. He wants to show us He works! If we stop believing, we will never know the power and faithfulness of God.

Those two words have echoed unceasingly in my mind ever since. In overriding matters God seems to work in themes with me.
