The chances you take… the people you meet… the people you love… the faith that you have — that's what's going to define your life.

Victory in the spiritual realm is primary. It is to be obtained by the employment of spiritual weapons.

His conduct reveals that he has more confidence in what he can do for himself than in what God can do for him. He has, in fact, "snubbed" God. It is this attitude that calls forth God's curse.

We got a dying world around us.

I get on stage and realize what God has given me, and not just I sing some songs and tell a couple stories, or something that God's done. It's more like, 'OK, guys. I want to encourage you to go out to this world and show love and truth.'

Not everyone is courageous by nature. But whether we are bold or reticent, God calls leaders to be of good courage and not to capitulate to fear. Such a call to courage would be rather pointless if nobody feared anything. Because fear is a real part of life, God gives us the Holy Spirit, who fills us with power. But we must let the power do its work, and not fear.

Samuel Chadwick contended that Satan fears nothing from prayerless studies, teaching, and preaching. "He laughs at our toil, mocks at our wisdom, but trembles when we pray.

We don't believe something by merely saying we believe it, or even when we believe that we believe it. We believe something when we act as if it were true.

Great faith, like great strength in general, is revealed by the ease of its workings. Most of what we think we see as the struggle OF faith is really the struggle to act as IF we had faith when in fact we do not.

So when Jesus directs us to pray, "Thy kingdom come," he does not mean we should pray for it to come into existence. Rather, we pray for it to take over at all points in the personal, social, and political order where it is now excluded: "On earth as it is in heaven." With this prayer we are invoking it, as in faith we are acting it, into the real world of our daily existence.

Our business is not enemy making but enemy loving. Our business is not dividing the country into blue and red states, but being a people of one accord. Our business is not securing the power to rule, but doing justice, showing mercy, and walking humbly with our God.

But when we understand that we are called to be the church, not just go to church, it changes our identity. No longer do we go to a building where religious activities happen and that is "church." We now are the church all week long.
