Unless you want to carry the whole load yourself, you need to be developing leaders.

Where Are You Holding Up Your Team? If you are not asking the members of your team how you can serve them, you may be holding them up. To find out, go to each team member individually and ask, "What could I do for you that would make your job easier, make you more successful, and make the team better?" Listen without interrupting to what people have to say, and then try to figure out ways to do what you can to serve them.

A leader with confidence is a leader who brings out positive changes in people.

Am I adding value to people?

If you want to become a better leader, let go of control and start fostering cooperation. Good leaders stop bossing people around and start encouraging them. That is the secret to being a people-oriented leader, because much of leadership is encouragement.

Make it your job to put other people on top today.

People don't want to be managed. They want to be led. Whoever heard of a world manager? World leader, yes. Education leader, yes. Political leader. Religious leader. Scout leader. Community leader. Labor leader. Business leader. Yes. They lead.

If you wait until you can do everything for everybody, instead of something for somebody, you'll end up not doing anything for anybody.

The leader is the servant who removes the obstacles that prevent people from doing their jobs.
