Afflictions are sovereign medicines to kill spiritual diseases, look to the Lord to purge your sin, to refine you as silver in a crucible, and comfort yourself that you will lose nothing but the dross (Isa. 1:25—26).

Peace be to you, fear not.

Requiem aeternam dona eis, Domine: et lux perpetua luceat eis [Eternal rest give them, O Lord: and let perpetual light shine upon them].

I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

No pillow so soft as God's promise.

He wants you all to Himself to put His loving, divine arms around you.

And the Holy Spirit helps us in our distress. For we don't even know what we should pray for, nor how we should pray. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. ROMANS 8:26

This is throughout scripture the great central promise: I am with you.

For he has this comfort, which provides greater security to him than the highest peak of wealth or power— he knows that his affairs are ordered by the Lord and, as such, promote his salvation. We see this sentiment in David, who, while following God and entrusting himself to God's rule, declared: "I do not occupy myself with things too great and marvelous for me. But I have calmed and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with its mother" (Ps. 131:1—2).

God has enough grace to solve every dilemma you face, wipe every tear you cry, and answer every question you ask.

The truth of God's love is not that He allows bad things to happen, it's his promise that he will be there with us--when they do.
