Thanksgiving keeps us sane and alive.

I have lived pain, and my life can tell: I only deepen the wound of the world when I neglect to give thanks the heavy perfume of wild roses in early July and the song of crickets on summer humid nights and the rivers that run and the stars that rise and the rain that falls and all the good things that a good God gives.

A lot of people say, 'Wow, a movie on your life, isn't that exciting?' Absolutely, I'm blown away that God allowed me to do this but it's hard - watching the film and being a part of it.

The soul that gives thanks can find comfort in everything; the soul that complains can find comfort in nothing.

Do we not continually pass by blessings innumerable without notice, and instead fix our eyes on what we feel to be our trials and our losses, and think and talk about these until our whole horizon is filled with them, and we almost begin to think we have no blessings at all?

Once you appreciate one of your blessings, one of your senses, your sense of hearing, then you begin to respect the sense of seeing and touching and tasting, you learn to respect all the senses.

I believe ingratitude is the original sin. I believe if Adam and Eve had been grateful for the garden of Eden they had, they would not have been so focused on the one tree they didn't have.

Teach yourself to thankfully receive all that God gives you as evidence of His love and faithfulness, and then you'll find it easier to trust Him next time.

Acceptance is taking from God's hand absolutely anything He gives, looking into His face in trust and thanksgiving.

Do not try to explain feelings. Live everything intensely and treasure what you feel as a gift from God.

What if I gave thanks in the trouble, for the trouble, because the trouble is a gift that causes me to turn? What if I loved God not for His goods but for His love itself that is goodness enough?

It is enough for me to pick up but a straw from the ground for the love of God.
