While the Bible clearly defines roles within the Church, the mission of the Church was intended to be shared by the whole body.

The goal is not to run a program called "Missional Community." The goal is to learn how to function as an extended family on mission.

I can do things you cannot, you can do things I cannot; together we can do great things.

It is individualism and collectivism that cancel each other out; properly understood, the corporate and the personal reinforce one another.4

But of course you can only do what you're meant to do with a baseball bat when you're playing with other people. And salvation only does what it's meant to do when those who have been saved, are being saved, and will one day fully be saved realize that they are saved not as souls but as wholes and not for themselves alone but for what God now longs to do through them.

Lethargy is evident in churches when the people have no sense of ownership.

A new world will be won not by those who stand at a distance with their arms folded.

I am your servant…. It is not the individuals that matter, but the collective….

And that the world is a great big net, it is a whole, where no single thing exists separately; every scrap of the world, every last tiny piece, is bound up with the rest by a complex cosmos of correspondences, hard for the ordinary mind to penetrate.

When someone thinks that to develop a holy life he must always be alone with God, he is no longer of any use to others.

Humans were designed by evolution to live in societies, but they may not understand how societies work.

The path to significance is bigger than the individual.
