Hope is the melody of the future. Faith is dancing to that melody right now.

God loves me too much to answer my prayers at any other time than the right time and in any other way than the right way.

He waits every day with every answer we need, every comfort we crave, every affection we're desperate for, while we look everywhere else but at Him.

How it must break His heart when we walk around so desperate for a love He waits to give us each and every day.

My life certainly didn't change overnight. I experienced a waiting period, a time of growth, development, and perseverance as God prepared me. Lessons on patience, trust, surrender, and learning to take hold all preceded my stepping out. But even in this seemingly unimportant time of pruning and trials, God was preparing me for the next step.

I know I must walk through God's process before I see His fulfilled promise.

Good things are coming. I know it. Today's disappointment is making room for tomorrow's appointment. Let's look for those good things with great intentionality.

The promise is a glorious hope to hang on to for the future. But it's His presence in the process that will steady our hope for today.

Yes, faith still moves mountains. But sometimes the greater act of faith is not praying for the mountain to move instantly but rather hanging in there while God helps you to move it bit by bit.

To trust God is to trust His timing. To trust God is to trust His way. God loves me too much to answer my prayers at any other time than the right time and in any other way than the right way. In the quietness of all that doesn't feel right, this truth does.

When we think the process of longsuffering is unbearable, we must remember it would be deadly for God to put us up on that solid rock before we are strong, firm, and steadfast. And it would be cruel for Him to require us to sing before we have a song.

We are not necessarily doubting that God will do the best for us; we are wondering how painful the best will turn out to be.
