Contentment comes from having a positive attitude. It means: • Expecting the best in everything—not the worst • Remaining upbeat—even when you get beat up • Seeing solutions in every problem—not problems in every solution • Believing in yourself—even when others believe you've failed • Holding on to hope—even when others say it's hopeless

You know that your attitude capacity has increased when your attitude is remaining positive even as your difficulties rise.

I will never surrender to discouragement or despair no matter what seeming obstacles may confront me.

Never allow others to put obstacles in the pathway of your dreams.

Your face is bright with the love of the Lord. Our souls are singing together, despite the evil that threatens to befall us.

Paul said, "Continue in prayer and, "Pray without ceasing." He did not mean that people should be always on their knees, but he did mean that our prayers should be like the continual burned-offering steadily preserved in every day; that it should be like seed-time and harvest, and summer and winter, unceasingly coming round at regular seasons; that it should be like the fire on the altar, not always consuming sacrifices, but never completely going out.

Prayer is the peculiarity of all real Christians now. They pray, for they tell God their wants, their feelings, their desires, and their fears; and they mean what they say. The nominal Christian may repeat prayers, and good prayers too, but he goes no further.

I want the times we live in to be praying times. I want the Christians of our day to be praying Christians. I want the Church of our age to be a praying Church.

We show our faith in God when we keep moving forward even when our prayers aren't being answered. It's the highest form of praise to keep believing that God is good even when it doesn't seem that way.

once I understand that my enemy is never going to lay down arms and sign a peace treaty with, I would be wise to remain on full alert at all times.

When my happy gets bumped, what's really going on in my heart is on display. In those times I will either add to the authenticity of my love for Jesus or, sadly, negate it.

We all desperately want something that we see the Lord giving to other women. We see Him blessing them in the very areas He's withholding from us. And while these other women may not be obnoxious like Peninnah in their reminders of their blessing and our lack, it's increasingly painful each time we see a reminder. We look at them, and we feel set aside.
