Unfortunately, human hearts seem remarkably resistant to wisdom.

All my knotted-up life I've longed for the sanity and simplicity of knowing who's good and who's bad. I've wanted to know this about myself as much as anyone. I needed God to clean up the mess, divide the room, sort the mail so all of us can just get on with it and be who we are. Go where we're bent.

I used to pray that God would surround them with people who were good influences. When my eyes began to open, I realized my prayers better adjust to greater reality. The truth is, godly influences are few. I pray for them to know what to do with bad influences and hope they become the good influences!

Who has known the Lord's mind, that he may instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ. 1 Corinthians 2:16

Carefully consider the path for your feet, and all your ways will be established. Proverbs 4:26

After three days, they found Him in the temple complex sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. Luke 2:46

Curiosity is the far nobler sister of novelty. Curiosity invokes study. By definition, it is "interest leading to inquiry."[1] It does not look for diamonds on blades of grass; it looks for dew. If it's looking for diamonds, it mines. Curiosity isn't satisfied to climb a hill and then move on. To borrow words from Deuteronomy, it digs copper from them (Deuteronomy 8:9).

God's foolishness is wiser than human wisdom, and God's weakness is stronger than human strength. 1 Corinthians 1:25

I knew in my heart that it was right to go on a mission, but it required a lot of fasting and prayer to make the decision.Now that I am returned, I realize even more that I made the right decision.
