God, I recognize I am made for more than the vicious cycle of being ruled by food. I need to eat to live, not live to eat. So, I keep asking for Your wisdom to know what to eat and Your indwelling power to walk away from things that aren't beneficial for me.

I struggle with decisions, too. I don't want to miss out on opportunities, mess up relationships by disappointing people, or misstep right out of God's will.

In light of my past experience, and my future hopes and dreams, what's the wise thing to do?

It's in those little breaks in our companionship with God where confusion sets in about what we're really supposed to do. (11) Isaiah 30:21 ref

As we wisely gain knowledge through the everyday stuff, and grapple with the development of our discernment through everyday stuff, we'll use what we have to our advantage in making better decisions. (41)

I'm just determined - determined not to go places I don't want to go simply because I didn't take the time to honestly evaluate. 70

You'll live your life making decisions with the Best Yes as your best filter. You'll be a grand display of God's Word lived out. Your undistracted love will make your faith ring true. Your wisdom will help you make decisions that will still be good tomorrow. And you'll be alive and present for all of it.

coated with unmet expectations. So, what do I do? Well, I've found it tremendously helpful to list the expectations I have of a relationship in which I'm feeling slighted. Then I prayerfully discern whether or not my expectations are realistic or unrealistic. And if I can't really discern one way or the other, I ask. I ask God. I ask that person. I ask someone wise who knows both of us well.

Enlightened literally means "to shed light upon.

If we aren't walking in wisdom, intimacy, and understanding with our Lord, we are walking in folly. And folly's ways lead to death.

The Best Yes is what we're after. Best Yes answers are much more likely to happen when we are in the habit of seeking wisdom. We have to put our hearts and our minds in places where wisdom gathers, not scatters.

To enter into a journey of initiation with God requires a new set of questions: What are you trying to teach me here? What issues in my heart are you trying to raise through this? What is it you want me to see? What are you asking me to let go of?
