Unbelief. Oh, they believed in God. Their oversight was that they simply didn't believe the God they believed in.

Now faith is the reality of what is hoped for, the proof of what is not seen. Hebrews 11:1

God's specialty is raising dead things to life and making impossible things possible.

Father, so often I feel like the boy's father who first exclaimed, "I do believe!" then in a flood of sincerity cried out, "Help me overcome my unbelief!" (Mark 9:24) Please help me to overcome my own unbelief, Lord, so I can start taking You at Your Word.

Father God, according to Your Word, without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to You must believe that You exist and that You reward those who earnestly seek You. (Heb. 11:6) Lord, I want to please You. Build faith in me so my life will honor the life of Your Son.

I love the idea of feeding on God's faithfulness. Might we say, in fact, that the more we feed on God's faithfulness, the fatter of faith we become? How's that for a diet reversal? I'm thrilled to know we can binge on God without guilt.

Jesus said to them, "Do you believe that I can do this?" Matthew 9:28

Enoch was taken away so that he did not experience death… . He was approved, having pleased God. Hebrews 11:5

From the very beginning, God geared the faith walk to be relational, not informational. The latter was always intended for the sake of the former.

Your prayers may appear to go unanswered for many reasons. God may simply be giving you the answer that you are to wait. It could be that some sin in your life is clouding your communication with Him.

Lord, I thank You for being close to me when I pray. Thank You that You hear and will answer me. Thank You that in Your presence there is transformation for my soul and my life. I draw close to You now and ask for an ever-increasing sense of Your presence. I ask that You would help me to pray more and more every day and give me increasing faith to believe for the answers.

Your faith in God invites and releases God's power to work in your life. Don't put faith in your ability to have faith; put your faith in God's ability to heal. If your faith feels weak to you, ask God to increase it. Believe that there is nothing too hard for God (Mark 10:27). If you want to see a miracle, lay hold of this Scripture until it becomes part of your mind and heart.
