Love without faith is as bad as faith without love.

We always get into trouble when we doubt God's love, because when we don't trust him, we don't obey him.

God rewards those who seek Him. Not those who seek doctrine of religion or systems or creeds. Many settle for these lesser passions, but the reward goes to those who settle for nothing less than Jesus himself. And what is the reward? What awaits those who seek Jesus? Nothing short of the heart of Jesus.

This verse is a call, not to a feeling, but to a decision and a deeply rooted confidence that God exists, that he is in control, and that he is good.

For faith with no effort is no faith at all.

David knew what mattered most. The presence of God. He begged God for it.

In what circumstances do you struggle to trust God's purposes? Do you feel that God is fair in asking for a pure response like Paul's? Why or why not? What keeps you from fully believing that God is a good Father who cares for every detail of your life? Take the time to bring these obstacles before the Lord and pray, "Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!" (Mark 9:24).

Had any visits from this fellow lately? If you find yourself going to church in order to be saved and not because you are saved, then you've been listening to him. If you find yourself doubting God could forgive you again for that, you've been sold some snake oil. If you are more cynical about Christians than sincere about Christ, then guess who came to dinner?

Where do I go after I die? Is there a God? What do I do with my fears?

Prayer and meditation help us affirm that our Higher Power cares for us.

Five obstacles block our access to the benefits God wants for us: Unbelief, which hinders knowing God Pride, which prevents us from glorifying God Idolatry, which keeps us from being satisfied with God Prayerlessness, which blocks our experience of God's peace Legalism, which stops our enjoyment of God's presence

We must remember we don't stand in victory because of our faith. We stand in victory because of our God. Faith in faith is pointless. Faith in a living, active God moves mountains.
