All men are driven by faith or fear—one or the other—for both are the same. Faith or fear is the expectation of an event that hasn't come to pass or the belief in something that cannot be seen or touched. A man of fear lives always on the edge of insanity. A man of faith lives in perpetual reward.

Fear is a poor chisel with which to carve out tomorrow.

It is true: an army of sheep led by a lion would defeat an army of lions led by a sheep! I am a person of action.

So to make sure we don't get off on that foot, courage is resistance to fear or mastery of it, but it is not the absence of fear.

Fear no longer has a place in my life. For too long, fear has outweighed my desire to make things better for my family. Never again! I have exposed fear as a vapor, an impostor that never had any power over me in the first place! I do not fear opinion, gossip, or the idle chatter of monkeys, for all are the same to me. I do not fear failure, for in my life, failure is a myth. Failure exists only for the person who quits. I do not quit.

Never give in to a feeling of despair, fear, or defeat. Lead your negative emotion. Never allow those emotions to lead you. Always lead them by quickly moving in the opposite direction those emotions insist you should go!

Well, that's why smart people get tripped up with worry and fear. Worry...fear...is just a misuse of the creative imagination that has been placed in each of us. Because we are smart and creative, we imagine all the things that could happen, that might happen, that will happen if this or that happens. See what I mean?

Simply recognizing the need for change does not define leadership. The leader is the one who has the courage to act on what he sees…A leader is someone who has the courage to say publicly what everybody else is whispering privately. It is not his insight that sets the leader apart from the crowd. It is his courage to act on what he sees, to speak up when everyone else is silent.

It's spiritually deforming because fear entices us to place our faith in the person, party, or platform that promises to protect us from whatever they've convinced us we should fear.

The minute you decide to get back in the business the church was commissioned for in the first place, you will pray for boldness.

Courage establishes leadership.

Fear defies logic. Information only goes so far. Even when armed with all the reasons why we should not be afraid, the fear remains.
