Every song you love, every memory you cherish, every moment that has moved you to holy tears has been given to you from the One who has been pursuing you from your first breath in order to win your heart.

For what shall we do when we wake one day to find we have lost touch with our heart and with it the very refuge where God's presence resides?

To enter into a journey of initiation with God requires a new set of questions: What are you trying to teach me here? What issues in my heart are you trying to raise through this? What is it you want me to see? What are you asking me to let go of?

Most Christians have lost the life of their heart and with it, their romance with God.

To find God, you must look with all your heart. To remain present to God, you must remain present to your heart. To hear his voice, you must listen with your heart. To love him, you must love with all your heart. You cannot be the person God meant you to be, and you cannot live the life he meant you to live, unless you live from the heart.

I am looking for my heart.

The greatest human tragedy is to give up the search. Nothing is of greater importance than the life of our deep heart. To lose heart is to lose everything.

For that which draws us to the heart of God is that which often first lifts our own hearts above the mundane, awakens longing and desire. And it is that life, my brothers, the life of your heart, that God is most keenly after.

The LORD is with you when you are with him. If you seek him,he will be found by you. (2 Chronicles 15:2)

Then I ask for more of God: Jesus—I need more of you; fill me with more of you, God. Restore our union; fill me with your life.

The wilderness trial of Christ is, at its core, a test of his identity. "If you are who you think you are... " If a man is ever to find out who he is and what he's here for, he has got to take that journey for himself. He has got to get his heart back.

What if those deep desires in our hearts are telling us the truth, revealing to us the life we were meant to live? God gave us eyes so that we might see; he gave us ears that we might hear; he gave us will that we might choose, and he gave us hearts that we might live. The way we handle the heart is everything.
