Just that morning I'd been praying and asking God to show Himself to me. I asked the God of the universe to intersect my life with His revelation, then got up from my prayers and forgot to look. Forgot to seek Him. Forgot to keep my heart in tune with His voice and His invitation.

Look for Me. Long for Me. Experience unbroken companionship with Me.

God made us to crave—to desire eagerly, want greatly, and long for Him.

God, inconvenience me … so that I might constantly be reminded to draw near to You. Interrupt me, Lord. Shake things up in me, Lord. Reveal what's in me that's not of You, Lord. O Lord, more than anything, I want more of You.

growing closer to God has a whole lot less to do with any action we might take and a whole lot more to do with positioning our hearts toward His.

Yes, God, there are some who seek You today! I understand it is possible to experience You; therefore, I want that more than anything else. I will seek to see You, hear You, know You, and follow hard after You in every part of my day.

And the ties that truly bind me to Him and the truth of who I am in Him are given to me in those quiet moments where I say, "I'm Yours, God.

We were made to crave— long for, want greatly, desire eagerly, and beg for— God. Only God.

That's how God created us -- with a longing to be filled. It's a longing God instilled to draw us into deep intimacy with Him.

God, I want to see You. God, I want to hear You. God, I want to know You. God, I want to follow hard after You. And even before I know what I will face today, I say yes to You.

But pulling away only makes things worse. God says, "You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart" (Jeremiah 29:13). All my heart includes the parts that are broken. Bring it all to God.
