Pray as if it's up to God, work as if it's up to you.

We are here to finish God's labors. . .so that we could be His partners in completing the work of creation.

God works, and therefore we work; God is with- us, and therefore we are with God, and stand on His side.

God's idea of a partnership places enormous responsibility on his image bearers and also means he wants us to participate in what he is doing here on earth and intends for us to do so, not as isolated individuals, but together.

Adam was not alone in the Garden of Eden, however, and does not deserve all the credit; much is due to Eve, the first woman, and Satan, the first consultant.

When we focus on what we can do, it's amazing how little time we have left to become consumed by our disappointments.
