Faith's only function is to receive what grace offers.

The Lord bestows his blessings there, where he finds the vessels empty.

The daily life of the Christian can be summed up in one word: receive.

It is by the Holy Spirit that we love those who are united to us in Christ. The more plentifully we have received of the Spirit of Christ, the more perfectly we are able to love them: and the more we love them the more we receive the Spirit. It is clear, however, that since we love them by the Spirit Who is given to us by Jesus, it is Jesus Himself Who loves them in us.

God wants no one to leave our presence empty handed.

when we receive the gift of grace, it should transform us into grace-filled people who want to see other people given a chance, and other people loved back to life again.

As we give grace to others, we receive more grace ourselves. As we affirm people and show a fundamental belief in their capacity to grow and improve, as we bless them even when they are cursing or judging us—we build primary greatness into our personality and character.

The amount of God's love is unlimited, but we only receive as much as we use.

Grace is love that seeks you out when you have nothing to give in return. Grace is love coming at you that has nothing to do with you. Grace is being loved when you are unlovable.

And there's also 'To him that hath shall be given.' After all, you must have a capacity to receive, or even omnipotence can't give. Perhaps your own passion temporarily destroys the capacity.
