The Bible is the story of a love drama that looked as if it would end in tragedy—but then Jesus came.

Jesus not only revealed God's glory on earth; he died so that that glory would be the final resting place of our hearts.

What was the mission of Jesus? What is the promise of the bloody cross and the empty tomb? What is the ultimate goal of the reigning King Christ? What is the scope of the work of redemption? What in the world is God working on? What does the final chapter of the grand redemptive story look like?

God knew that we would convince ourselves that we are okay when we're not okay. So he designed a means for us to be confronted again and again with the depth of our sin and the expansive glory of his provision in the person and work of the Lamb, the Savior, the Redeemer—the Lord Jesus Christ.

DECEMBER 25 Jesus was despised and rejected in the here and now so that you would have the Father's love and acceptance forever.

The birth of Jesus is a sure sign that God will act where we cannot act, and he will act with life-giving grace. Celebrate that Jesus came to give life, because it's the one gift we could never, ever give ourselves.

First, the gospel is the world's best love story. It is a story of a God of love who places his love on people who do not deserve his love. This God sends the Son of his love to make a sacrifice of love so that his children can be welcomed into his arms of love and become a community of love that takes his love to those in desperate need of that love.

We don't offer people a system; we point them to a Redeemer. He is hope.

No need to deny, rationalize, or otherwise excuse away evidence of your sin. God wouldn't have sent his Son if your sin were not real.

He who participates in God participates in eternity.

Love is the only thing that will save us, independent of any mistakes we may make. Love is always stronger.
