Some of God's greatest mercies are in his refusals. He says no in order that he may, in some way we cannot imagine, say yes.

How long Lord must I wait? Nevermind child, trust me.

What we don't have now we don't need now. Possibly His very withholding is in order that the boy may learn, at this crucial juncture in his life, to turn to God in prayer for a deeply felt need.

When stormy winds against us break stablish and reinforce our will; O hear us for Thine own Name's sake, hold us in strength, and hold us still. Still as the faithful mountains stand, through the long, silent years of stress; so would we wait at Thy right hand in quietness and steadfastness.

Everyone who was in on our plan was again thrilled by the news. To some of us the most significant thing was not the information gained but the fact that after so much fruitless searching we had located the first group of Aucas and then in a couple of weeks had stumbled over the other group. It seemed to mean that now was the Lord's time to do something about them. Again we agreed to pray about the matter and compare notes further, after the whole episode had a chance to sink in.

Our major problems of acceptance and trust usually have to do with timing, because God's timetable is always different from ours. He wants me to wait in order to believe, in order to learn to put my faith in His timing.

Like the sparrow, I've got a song to sing. Unlike the sparrow, I must sing mine by faith.

Trust holds fast, standing firm until deliverance arrives or a solution is found.

We cannot see beyond the door, we know not what he hath in store, we can but bow our hearts and pray, for strength to serve Him day by day.

God's ways and His will come in His own perfect time.

When all is said and done, the weather and love are the two elements about which one can never be sure.
