You may not be accustomed to thinking that God commands us to be happy. But it's a fact. And I'm betting it's a command most of us would like to obey!

But the greatest dream of all is to know God and to know what he has intended for your life.

More than anything else, prayer enables you to see your own heart and brings you into alignment with God's heart. Prayer is not a monologue in which we imagine ourselves to be communing with God. Rather, it is a dialogue through which God fashions your heart and makes his dream of you a reality. It is truly the treasured gift of the Christian that through direct answers and not-so-direct answers, the follower of Jesus begins to love God for who he is, not for what he may get out of him.

And in our search for morality and happiness outside of God, we have effectively lost all three—God, morality, and happiness.

Faith is that sublime dependence upon God that even though we may not get what we want, we know and love the One who denies us for His good reason and for our ultimate good.

We have inherited God's sense of satisfaction and joy in accomplishing things through relationships. After

No matter what we own, we will not be happy if doing God's will is not a priority in our lives.

I strongly encourage you to be careful not to let anything become more important to you than it should be. Keep God first so He can bless you with other things you desire.

I would like to suggest that you take responsibility for your joy and never again give anyone else the job of keeping you happy. You can control what you do, but you cannot control what other people do. So you may be unhappy a lot of the time if you depend on them as your source of joy. The psalmist David said that he encouraged himself in the Lord, and if he can do it, then we can do it too.

The more positive you and I become, the more we will be in the flow of God. God is certainly positive, and to flow with Him, we must also be positive.
