Commit to Spend the Time Needed to Develop Leaders:

Don't settle for being merely a teller of stories about significance. Decide to be the story of significance. Become the central character in your story of making a difference!

As you release tasks to the leaders you're developing, you need to trust them, believe in them, and hold them accountable.

A leader cannot demand of others what he does not demand of himself.

As you and I grow and improve as leaders, so will those we lead. We need to remember that when people follow us, they can only go as far as we go. If our growth stops, our ability to lead will stop along with it.

Example is not the main thing in influencing others . . . it is the only thing.

He who thinks he leads, but has no followers, is only taking a walk." If you can't influence others, they won't follow you.

All of those shortcomings are the result of character, not capacity. Character growth determines the height of your personal growth. That's the Law of the Ladder.

People need your influence, but it will not come through 'lip syncing' those you admire.
