Father, I know you're going to do some incredible things in your world today. Please give me the privilege of getting in on some of what you're doing." In other words, church leaders should stop praying, "Lord, bless what I'm doing" and start praying, "Lord, help me to do what you are blessing.

This is true religion, to approve what God approves, to hate what he hates, and to delight in what delights him

Maximize that which gives you joy: friends, hobbies, religion, etc.

Like when you sit in front of a fire in winter — you are just there in front of the fire. You don't have to be smart or anything. The fire warms you.

Today, let's be determined to see blessings in the midst of things that seem like burdens.

Meditation, otherwise known as sitting still and thinking about nothing, is one of those things that can be just as stupidly simple as it is surprisingly hard.

However great may be the work for which we are responsible, we will always do well if we pause to spend time in sacred praise.

A grateful heart is a beginning of greatness. It is an expression of humility. It is a foundation for the development of such virtues as prayer, faith, courage, contentment, happiness, love, and well-being.

Whatever happens happens. If something happens, something happens. But I believe in God, and I pray every day.

I believe that the greatest form of prayer is praise to God.

The blessing of my mother is that she is so interested, she is so bright, she never complains - the joy of the Lord just bubbles out of her. Anybody who's in her presence is blessed to be there.

If you prayed as much as you complain and quarrel, you'd have a lot less to argue about and much more peace of mind.
