My job is to be obedient to God, to apply His Word, and to walk according to His ways — not according to the world's suggestions.

On the other hand, when I change to a growth mind-set, I don't chain my identity to my insecurity. Instead, I chain my identity to the Word of God that breathes hope and powerful potential back into any situation.

No human is strong enough to withstand seeing too much of God's plan in advance. It must be revealed daily. And we must be led to it and through it slowly.

In light of my past experience, and my future hopes and dreams, what's the wise thing to do?

The more saturated we are with God's truth, the more powerfully resistant we become.

There is no magic formula for being able to discern God's voice. We can learn to recognize it the way we recognize the voices of those close to us: by knowing Him. And when we know Him, we can tell if what we're feeling led to do is from Him or not.

God, I want to see You. God, I want to hear You. God, I want to know You. God, I want to follow hard after You. And even before I know what I will face today, I say yes to You.

They were everyday choices to honor God right where I was: spending time in God's Word even when the items on my to-do list seemed more urgent. Getting filled with Him first so I could love and give and serve out of an overflow rather than relying on my own strength.

The enemy doesn't take vacations, so we shouldn't take vacations from studying God's Word either. We wouldn't want to go even a few hours without water, certainly not days or weeks, and we should view God's living water for our souls in the same way.

when we operate according to God's Word, we operate according to God's will.

Enlightened literally means "to shed light upon.

We must let God's Word become the words we believe and receive as truth. We must let God's Word become the words of our story.
