If we are to fight evil in our world—as we are called to do—we cannot harbor deceitfulness in our hearts. May God give us the courage and the strength and the wisdom to live as he wants us to live. He is a holy God. And he is also a God of love. He desires only our good. He will show us what we each must learn from this experience today.

The violence engulfing the region today has made too many Israelis ready to abandon the hard work of peace. But let's be clear: the status quo in the West Bank and Gaza is not sustainable.

Fighting evil, it's hard work.

Evil had to manifest itself and fulfill its role, so that ultimately Good could prevail. [...] Evil needs to manifest itself, for them to understand the value of Good.

I won't undertake war until I have tried all the arts and means of peace.

Art to be art must soothe.

Every nation has to either be with us, or against us. Those who harbor terrorists, or who finance them, are going to pay a price.

And I pray, if there are ever two children who come visit my home here, that you will give them the courage to say shalom, so that they will know they do not have to remain in hiding. Amen

I can not believe that war is the best solution. No one won the last war, and no one will win the next war.

St. Augustine says, "If God is, why is there evil? But if God is not, why is there good?

Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me.

Science is a tool, and if we were an esentially kind and peaceful species, it would not occur to us to use this tool for destructive purposes.
