Faith is to the soul what life is to the body. Prayer is to faith what breath is to life. How a man can live and not breathe is past my comprehension, and how a man can believe and not pray is past my comprehension too.

Let us remember that, as much has been given us, much will be expected from us, and that true homage comes from the heart as well as from the lips, and shows itself in deeds.

Faith is underrated. Paradoxically, religion is vastly overrated.

For me, my faith informs my life.

Faith is the eternal elixir. It gives life, power, and action to the impulse of thought.

We cannot save the world without God's help, but He can't save the world without ours. We need His love; He needs our hands and feet. Today I give Him mine.

Judge me by my deeds, though they are few, rather than my words, though they are many.

That in which all human life is unified is passion, and faith is a passion.

It's what you do that makes your soul.

Pray as if it all depends upon God, for it does. But work as if it all depends upon us, for it does.

I'm working at trying to be a Christian, and that's serious business. It's like trying to be a good Jew, a good Muslim, a good Buddhist, a good Shintoist, a good Zoroastrian, a good friend, a good lover, a good mother, a good buddy - it's serious business.

Belief fails when it works not well indeed but is idle as a sleeping man... Each virtuous deed is strong when it is grounded upon the solidity of belief.
