Obedience to God's Word begins by being determined to make no compromise with His ways. It requires a clear understanding that God's rules and laws are for your benefit, and for you to do all you can to live by them.

We can't ever allow ourselves to get into the situation where we believe we don't need to worship God. We must not think for a moment that nothing can shake us—that we don't need God and we can't fail. We must not have a false sense of security and suppose we don't need to pour ourselves out before the Lord in praise and empty ourselves before Him in humble worship. We cannot imagine for even an instant that God's rules don't apply to us.

Lord, I turn to You for all wisdom, direction, and guidance. Where I must seek advice from another person, help me to know when that person speaks from godly knowledge and when this is not the case. Help me to always test the input of others with Your Word. I want You to be my ultimate source for all knowledge.

Take a chance on God. After all, He took a chance on you.

I would say much of religious heresy is the result of a misunderstanding of the basic nature of God. And once we have a proper understanding of God, then usually most of the areas of our life coincide with who God is and what He desires for each one of us.

We've been given a mind innovated by the Holy Spirit to know God, as well as a heart to love him and a will to choose him. We need to function in all three areas to have a maximum relationship with God and to glorify him.

Terms don't define our lives; our lives define our terms.

When you let God be God you can let humans be humans. When we place God in His rightful place in our lives, we don't struggle so much when human relationships let us down.
