Trust God more than you trust that thought. Don't try to fight those thoughts with your willpower alone—challenge them with God's Word.

People who have no capacity to trust suspect the motives of others. I know this is true because I had a real problem in this area. Even when other people told me they loved me, I was always waiting for them to hurt me, disappoint me, fail me, or abuse me. I figured that they must be after something; otherwise, they would not be nice to me. I just could not believe that anyone would want me just for myself. There had to be some other reason!

If you are a woman who truly wants to have peaceful relationships, I encourage you to examine yourself and ask God to reveal to you any unrealistic expectations you may have of other people.

Trust God, relax, rest in Him, and enjoy the life He has given you. Put your expectations on God, not on people.

We need to be able to step back from our situations and see them from God's perspective. Then we need to make decisions based on what we know rather than on what we feel.

You and I can ponder a thing in our heart, we can hold it before the Lord and see if He desires to give us understanding, but the minute we start feeling confused, we have gone too far.

Trust in Him Faith in Jesus is "the leaning of your entire personality on Him in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness" (Col. 1:4). Are you leaning on Him?

The amplification of the word faith in Colossians 1:4 is "the leaning of your entire human personality on [God] in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness" (AMPC). I love this

Walking after the flesh is depending on yourself; walking after the Spirit is depending on God.

Instead of assuming the worst, believe the best.
