The gravity of living in a sin-soaked world will always try to hold us back from living loved.

In the spacious love of God, our souls can lie down and rest. This love from him is not something we must struggle for, earn, or fear to lose. It is bestowed. He has bestowed it upon us. He has chosen us. And nothing can separate us from his love. Not even we, ourselves. We are made for such a love. Our hearts yearn to be loved intimately, personally, and yes, romantically. We are created to be the object of desire and affection of one who is totally and completely in love with us. And we are.

The Lover of our souls, the One who has pursued us down through space and time, who gave his own life to rescue us from the Kingdom of Darkness, has made it clear: He does not want to lose us. He longs for us to be with him forever.

May you experience the truth that he, Christ, looks upon you with love.

As the interview ended, I asked him one last question: "If you had one thing to say about God and man, what would you say?" He paused, switched to English, and said, "Man is not valuable because he loves God. Man is valuable because God loves him.

God's love is proactive. He doesn't wait for us to get our act together. God always makes the first move. And we're called to follow suit.

The greatest happines of life is the conviction that we are loved-loved for ourselves, or rather, loved in spite of ourselves.

At best we are but clay, animated dust; but viewed as sinners, we are monsters indeed. Let it be published in heaven as a miracle that the Lord Jesus should set His heart's love upon people like us.

Have mercy on me, O God, because of your unfailing love. Because of your great compassion, blot out the stain of my sins.

If God had a refrigerator, your picture would be on it. If He had a wallet, your photo would be in it. He sends you flowers every spring and a sunrise every morning... Face it, friend. He is crazy about you!
