Don't reason in the mind just obey in the spirit.

For those who are according to the flesh and are controlled by its unholy desires set their minds on and pursue those things which gratify the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit and are controlled by the desires of the Spirit set their minds on and seek those things which gratify the [Holy] Spirit.

Don't ever flirt with sin.

if we "mind" the things of the flesh, we will walk in the flesh; but if we "mind" the things of the Spirit, we will walk in the Spirit.

God wants to teach us to walk in the Spirit, not the flesh, and that includes emotions. Unless we make a firm decision to "fear not," we will never be free from the power of it.

Romans 8:1 says that, as believers, we can "live [and] walk not after the dictates of the flesh, but after the dictates of the Spirit." One of the ways you can tell if you are following the flesh (your own plan) instead of the Spirit (God's plan) is that you have no peace and you're struggling.

reminding Satan and yourself that you do not walk after the flesh but after the Spirit. Walking after the flesh is depending on yourself; walking after the Spirit is depending on God.

You should follow the leading of the Holy Spirit and say yes only when you are led to. You are responsible to be obedient only to God, not to keep everyone in the world happy by doing everything they want you to do.

Walking after the flesh is depending on yourself; walking after the Spirit is depending on God.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. GALATIANS 5:22—23 NIV

When you choose God's will, the Holy Spirit will energize you to live out that decision.
