God provides not only in what he gives us, but at times in what he keeps from us. Have you ever noticed that excess money just seems to dissipate in a multitude of directions?

At the end, Job discovered that this God who was his Creator and Designer, his Revealer and Comforter, his Mediator and Savior, was also his Strengthener and Restorer.

God clearly called me into the preaching and teaching ministry, principally in hostile arenas. An odd call for a shy individual, I would think! But God does it his way.

God's grace is beyond description. He lifted all of us over the walls of our own imprisonment.

One of my favorite examples involves Dr. Peter Greenspan, a Jewish obstetrician-gynecologist who also teaches at a medical school. The more he read books by critics who were trying to attack the prophecies, the more he recognized the flaws in their arguments. Ironically, concluded Greenspan, "I think I actually came to faith in Y'shua [Jesus] by reading what detractors wrote."36

Faith is that sublime dependence upon God that even though we may not get what we want, we know and love the One who denies us for His good reason and for our ultimate good.

All walls are not barriers. They may be there for a purpose.

The hallmark of conversion is to see one's own spiritual poverty. arrogance and conceit ought to be inimical to the life of the believer. A deep awareness of one's own new hungers and longings is a convincing witness both to God and God's grace within.

What a wonderful day it was when I stopped running and, by His strength, let the embrace of His love envelop me.

It made him proud that 29 months in the service had not blunted his genius for ineptitude.

The biggest black eye that you can give the devil is to give God your pain and let Him turn it into gain.

God knows the mess we're in when He calls us. His light shines greater through "cracked pots" than it does through those who have it all together.
