With small means the Lord accomplishes His marvelous work.

My stuff is observational, what people do with their lives from the angle of a man that can't pull it off. So if I talk about having a family, it would be through the medium of a man who is in no fit state to be given a child to look after.

He releases the curse in order to drive us to our knees and to seek him, to recognize our need for a Savior (Gal. 3:21—25). The problem is instead of being broken by the thorns and thistles of life and thus coming to Christ, we either flee, fight, or hide.

His grace is sufficient.

His power is accessible.

the result of denying and minimizing our wounds over many years is that we become less and less human, empty Christian shells with painted smiley faces.

Prayer Lord, I have spent much of my life running from pain and loss, medicating my pain and quickly moving on to the next project——the new urgent demand. I ask for the grace to embrace all of life—the joys and the sorrows, the deaths and the births, the old and the new. In Jesus' name, amen.

Maturity in life is when someone is living joyfully within their God-given limits.

Christians are not perfect, by any means, but they can be people made fully alive.

Grace is the most perplexing, powerful force in the universe, and, I believe, the only hope for our twisted, violent planet.
