You may have heard the expression "greater levels, greater devils." This typically implies that when you are promoted spiritually, you should expect more intense warfare in your life. Yet what we sometimes fail to realize is that when God promotes us, He also protects us.

Jesus became our advocate or lawyer, and it is important that we never talk to the devil without our attorney present. We also should not do for the devil what he cannot do for himself. He cannot touch us; he can only talk to us. So when we self-destruct, we are doing for the devil what he cannot do for himself.

Any time we turn to the devil's devices to solve the issues of our soul, we step out from under the umbrella of God's protection and become vulnerable to the elements. Freedom comes, as I shared in the story above, by breaking these covenants through verbally renouncing each one of them. Our eyes and ears are two of the main gateways to our souls. It is vital that we steward what we hear and see so that seeds of deception do not get planted in the soil of our souls.

It is our responsibility to trust God. It is His responsibility to deliver, protect and save us.
