Divine truth is not something we "discover;" it is revealed by the Holy Spirit of God. As such, no other reality in the Christian life is as important as being filled with the Spirit.

Whenever God reveals His nature in a new way, it is always for a purpose. He created you for a love relationship with Him. When He encounters you, He is allowing you to know Him by experience. Encounters with God are always an expression of God's love for you. Jesus said: "The one who has My commands and keeps them is the one who loves Me. And the one who loves Me will be loved by My Father. I also will love him and will reveal Myself to him" (John 14:21).

God's written Word is the plumb line for our lives as we walk daily with him (Amos 7:7; Rev. 22:18—19; Deut. 4:2).

God does not want you to merely gain intellectual knowledge of truth. He wants you to experience His truth. There are things about Jesus you will learn only as you obey Him. Your obedience will then lead to greater revelation and opportunities for service.

God doesn't bless programs-God blesses people. Men today are in danger of following a God they read about and hear about but never actually know personally. When God encounters a man, he reveals something that is God-like and God-sized. Too often we reduce our lives and futures down to what we can handle. When you start to listen to God, you will hear him tell you that he is about to do the impossible. And when you obey him, you will experience what he said to you.

Christians arrange their lives based on the revelation of God, regardless of whether it makes sense to them. God does not ask for our opinion about what is best for our future, our family, our church, or our country. He already knows! What God wants is to get the attention of His people and reveal to us what is on His heart and what is His will, for God's ways are not our ways! (Isa. 55:8—9).

We treasure the word of God not only by reading the words of the scriptures, but by studying them. We may be nourished more by pondering a few words, allowing the Holy Ghost to make them treasures to us, than to pass quickly and superficially over whole chapters of scripture.
