I realized that most times it's not the big things along my spiritual journey that tempt me to get off track. It's a culmination of small daily aggravations I know God could fix but doesn't. But what if instead of seeing these aggravations as inconveniences, I saw them as reminders to draw near to God?

We are supposed to maximize God, which keeps our weaknesses in perspective.

How I long never to diminish God by loving lesser things. Rather, I want to make much of God by diminishing lesser things. May I make less of me, less of this world, less of the temporary…so that I may be a vessel more full of God, more full of eternal perspectives, more full of His everlasting!

The real reason for grounding ourselves in the truth that we are made for more is "so that you may know him better." The more we operate in the truth of who we are and the reality that we were made for more, the closer to God we'll become.

When we dump hurt into one another's lives, we aren't leveling the conflict scale. We are just weighing down the people side of the scale and elevating the Satan side of the scale. Satan loves it when we do his work for him by dumping on each other.

To trust God is to trust His timing. To trust God is to trust His way. God loves me too much to answer my prayers at any other time than the right time and in any other way than the right way. In the quietness of all that doesn't feel right, this truth does.

Just that morning I'd been praying and asking God to show Himself to me. I asked the God of the universe to intersect my life with His revelation, then got up from my prayers and forgot to look. Forgot to seek Him. Forgot to keep my heart in tune with His voice and His invitation.

Disappointment isn't proof that God is withholding good things from us. Sometimes it's His way of leading us Home.

The theme of obeying God runs from Genesis to Revelation, and it is vital to our children's success in life. A child who has a heart that is willing to surrender to God and fulfill every divine appointment given to him or her is a success.

God is interested in my character, not my comfort.

Dear Lord, I struggle caring too much about the opinions of others. I beg You to please whisper words of truth into my heart and mind today. Protect me from both the bad and good opinions of others as I am reminded that only Your opinion counts. In Jesus' name. Amen.
