I've failed many times to avoid those kinds of temptations. But that's not what the devil was really interested in. What he was trying to do is make me feel apart from God. Now I know that what Satan would like most to take from us is our true knowledge of who we are—which is children of God.

If Jesus encountered demons and evil spirits during his lifetime his followers likewise may face them.

Demons fear the power of Jesus Christ, and even speaking his name can rebuke evil.

Satan's kryptonite is separation through slander. He slanders God to us and us to God.

John 8:44 says Satan is a liar and the father of lies. He captures and conquers men's lives through his convincing lies, often nullifying good intentions with wrongful actions that seemed manly in the moment but in the end lacked the balancing power of clarity.
