Some of us have incredible potential, but we don't want to try anything bold because we don't want to fail. The easy choice: live in the relative safety of mediocrity because we think that's better than rejection.

Do we want to combat the fear in our lives? The battle is not ours. The battle belongs to the Lord. Jesus has already taken the sling and the stone and slain the giant. Godly fear, faith, and humility is the true threefold cord that can't easily be broken (see Ecclesiastes 4:12).

Holy fear is the key to God's sure foundation, unlocking the treasuries of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge. Along with the love of God, it composes the very foundation of life! We will soon learn that we cannot truly love God until we fear Him, nor can we properly fear Him until we love Him.

If you desire the praise of man, you will fear man. If you fear man, you will serve him-for you will serve what you fear.

But sacrifices are useless when unaccompanied by hearts that love and fear God.

Our love for God is limited by a lack of holy fear. Our hearts are to bear the light and warmth of both flames.
