This is my commandment," Jesus said, putting before us a single ideal, "That you love one another, as I have loved you" (John 15:12). The simplicity and force of this statement take away the breath.

The surest way to minimize your own burdens is to carry someone else's.

Religion is to do right. It is to love, it is to serve, it is to think, it is to be humble.

I have told everybody that what we are doing is for the love of God and works of love are always to accept and respect others.

You begin to see yourself not in isolation but as part of the whole. It becomes possible to help others as you would help yourself, not because service and charity make you feel good, but because you recognize that you are the very person you serve.

I don't want to lose the awe we get to help another human being.

If you despise your people, you will disregard them.If you hate your people, you will harm them.If you esteem your people, you will serve them.If you love your people, you will even die for them.

Do all the good you can and make as little fuss about it as possible.

What is the essence of life? To serve others and to do good.

We pray that the Lord may help us to produce His light in ourselves, even in dark days, so that we might be light for others, illuminating the world and life in this world.

Lord Jesus, help me love well like you.

My work for, and with, animals is just so rewarding. It's the best part of my life. It really is.
