We live under the new covenant. But the mark of that new covenant is not the absence of commands, but the blood-bought power to obey them.

Paul worked hard. He did not say that God's grace made his work unnecessary. He said God's grace made his work possible.

The religion which is current in our day is not of the pure and holy character that marked the Christian faith in the days of Christ and His apostles. It is only because of the spirit of compromise with sin, because the great truths of the word of God are so indifferently regarded, because there is so little vital godliness in the church, that Christianity is apparently so popular with the world.

My family, frankly, they weren't folks who went to church every week. My mother was one of the most spiritual people I knew but she didn't raise me in the church, so I came to my Christian faith later in life and it was because the precepts of Jesus Christ spoke to me in terms of the kind of life that I would want to lead.

My belief as a Christian is when we receive Christ as salvation, that that gives us a guarantee for Heaven.

The Gospel is about grace and we all know that grace is about us receiving from God blessings that we don't deserve.

That's the big difference between Christianity and other religions. The difference between Works and Grace or Do and Done.

Billy Graham is one of my great lifetime heroes. I think he epitomizes the essence of what a Christian leader should be. I have participated in some of his crusades a couple of times in Atlanta. I've seen the profound impact he's had on me personally, and on other people who were not Christians and accepted Christ as Savior.

The question: What is a Christian? My answer: A Christian is someone who follows Jesus* My former answer: A Christian is someone who has accepted Jesus, and the Christian life focuses on personal practices of piety.

What is not out of the question is that what the world sees as a grotesque image, the cross, has become for Christians a place of grace
