The Christian is not to be disturbed by the chaos, violence, strife, bloodshed, and threat of war that fill the pages of our daily newspapers. We know that these things are the consequences of man's sin and greed. Every day as I read my newspaper I say: "The Bible is true.

All young people sin, and sin produces discord, repellent vibrations which rifle the concert of life until the strings are gutless and flat. The kicks soon lead to kickbacks.

Sin also affects the conscience, until one becomes slow to detect the approach of sin.

Righteousness exalts a nation, and sin brings reproach.

After the first blush of sin comes its indifference.

Sin brought death, and death will disappear with the disappearance of sin.

Every painful consequence of sin is a part of the punishment meted out for sin.

Sin pulls a man down into despondency and despair.

Sin carries in it its own misery.

One leak will sink a ship: and one sin will destroy a sinner.

We are punished by our sins, not for them.

The death of Jesus breaks the chain between evil actions and evil consequences
