Love is the essence of God.

Lord # God , I praise Your Holy Name. Let every beat of my heart be a note of love in the symphony of my life.

Agape, the love of each one of us for the other, from the closest to the furthest, is in fact the only way that Jesus has given us to find the way of salvation and of the Beatitudes.

The apostle John wrote, "How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!" (1 John 3:1 NIV). The word for "lavished" in the original language is in the perfect tense indicating that God's love is permanently fixed upon His children.

Luther was trying to call the church back to its true roots, to a biblical idea of a merciful God who did not demand that we obey but who first loved us and first made us righteous before he expected us to live righteously.

Why must we love the Lord? Because as we do so, we become refined, pure, and holy.
