I will be with you when you pass through the waters, and when you pass through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. Isaiah 43:2

I'm here to say that you can't make the troubled waters of life go away by defending yourself against them. You can only walk over those troubled waters if you offer peace to them and leave the safety of your boat. Or so it was once written, and I have found Jesus' teaching to be true.

Every major difficulty you face in life is a fork in the road. You choose which track you will head down, toward breakdown or breakthrough.

The Cul-de-Sac and the Cliff Are the Curves That Lead to Failure If you find yourself facing either of these two curves, you need to quit. Not soon, but right now. The biggest obstacle to success in life, as far as I can tell, is our inability to quit these curves soon enough.

In working with people across the country and around the world, I've come to know that most of us go through times that re-route our prayer life.

I have been through some terrible things in my life, some of which actually happened.

Life itself is a sea full of reefs and maelstroms that a human being takes the greatest care and caution to avoid; he uses all his efforts and ingenuity to wend his way through, while knowing that even if he is successful, every step brings him closer to the greatest, the total, the inescapable and irreparable shipwreck, and in fact steers him right up to it, - to death: this is the final goal of the miserable journey and worse for him that all the reefs he managed to avoid.

I see happiness for all of you .... Happiness for you all ... though, mind you, I reckon, you'll have your troubles and worries and sorrows too. They're bound to come ... and no house whether it's a palace or a little house of dreams can bar' em out. But they won't get the better of you if you face them together with love and trust. You can weather any storm with them two for compass and pilot.

It is never quite safe to think we have done with life.

There is only one road to human greatness: through the school of hard knocks.

Its not what happens to you. It's what you do with what happens you.

If life were stable, I'd never need God's help.
