The point of your life is to point to Him...it is His movie, His world, His gift.

Learn to hold loosely all that is not eternal.

God is God. He knows what he is doing. When you can't trace his hand, trust his heart.

We may live victoriously, not because we have any power within ourselves, but because when we give ourselves to God, He gives himself to us.

Praying is not telling God what to do. It's trusting that God knows what to do.

In the first half of life, we fight the devil and have the illusion and inflation of "winning" now and then; in the second half of life, we always lose because we are invariably fighting God.

In fact, I would say what makes so much religion so innocuous, ineffective, and even unexciting is that there has seldom been a concrete "decision to turn our lives over to the care of God," even in many people who go to church, temple, or mosque. I have been in religious circles all my life and usually find willfulness run rampant in monasteries, convents, chancery offices, and among priests and prelates, ordinary laity, and at church meetings.

We have always made it hard for God to give away God for free.

God knows we have nothing of ourselves, therefore in the covenant of grace he requires no more than he gives, but gives what he requires, and accepts what he gives.

THE HEART OF WORSHIP IS SURRENDER.

You know you're surrendered to God when you rely on God to work things out instead of trying to manipulate others, force your agenda, and control the situation. You let go and let God work.
