None of the hymns that filled the air were about Jesus' sacrifice or death. I heard no sad songs and instinctively knew that there are no sad songs in heaven.

Lincoln called laughter "the joyous, beautiful, universal evergreen of life."

Joy comes from having a relationship with the unchanging God and transcends any trial we can face on this earth.

Imagine no more tears, no more sorrow, no more pain... and one day we will forever be with Jesus.

That is the joyful task of every follower of Jesus. Someday may it be written about me on my tombstone: He was so amazed by God's grace that he couldn't keep it to himself.

Let us, however, remember this truth: No one has made much progress in the school of Christ who doesn't look forward joyfully both to his death and the day of his final resurrection.

The godly are designed for unknown and inconceivable happiness.

How will it fill our souls with perpetual joy, to think that in the streams of this blood we have swum through the violence of the world, the snares of Satan, the seductions of flesh, the curse of the law, the wrath of an offended God, the accusations of a guilty conscience, and the vexing doubts and fears of an unbelieving heart, and are arrived safely at the presence of God!
