All His glory and beauty come from within, and there He delights to dwell, His visits there are frequent, His conversation sweet, His comforts refreshing; and His peace passing all understanding.

A godly woman's true adornment can't be bought at a department store or acquired in the beauty shop.

It is not your outward appearance that you should beautify, but your soul, adorning it with good works.

I must tell you a great truth, Much-Afraid, which only the few understand. All the fairest beauties in the human soul, its greatest victories, and its most splendid achievements are always those which no one else knows anything about, or can only dimly guess at. Every inner response of the human heart to Love and every conquest over self-love is a new flower on the tree of Love.

A more secret, sweet, and overpowering beauty appears to man when his heart and mind open to the sentiment of virtue.

But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or height, for I have rejected him; the LORD does not see as man does. For man sees the outward appearance, but the LORD sees the heart.”

But beauty itself is not given to us by anyone; it is a power we have within us from the gate, a radiance inside us.

"Pretty is as pretty does" was a stupid cliché in her estimation. Pretty is what God does in the hearts and minds of people who are a mess-whether outwardly or inwardly or both.

God does not look at riches, titles, education, or beauty. There is only one thing that God does look at, and that is the soul.

Loveliest of women! heaven is in thy soul, Beauty and virtue shine forever round thee, Bright'ning each other! thou art all divine!
