Whose opinion matters most to you? Whoever that person is, is your god. When you value anyone's opinions more than God's, you give that person power and authority that belongs only to God. That creates all kinds of insecurity within you. On the other hand, when God's approval matters the most to you, it sets you free from insecurity, because he will never reject you.

Jesus said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible" (Matthew 19:26).

If you have a relationship with God through Jesus, you don't need to fear death. It is the door to eternity. It will be the last hour of your time on earth, but it won't be the last of you. Rather than being the end of your life, it will be your birthday into eternal life. The Bible says, "This world is not our home; we are looking forward to our everlasting home in heaven." 9

Prayer doesn't change things - God changes things in answer to prayer.

We pray because our life comes from God and we yield it back in prayer. Prayer is a great antidote to the illusion that we are self-made.

Our prayers cannot force God to do anything, but He uses them as His own instruments to bring about His will.

Prayer does not change the purpose of God. But prayer does change the action of God.

Prayer is the difference between the best we can do and the best God can do.

When we pray to God with entire assurance, it is Himself who has given us the spirit of prayer.

We ought not to tolerate for a minute the ghastly and grievous thought that God will not answer prayer.

Prayer is not the answer. God is the answer. Prayer is the vehicle by which we reach God.

Prayer can do anything God can do and God can do anything!
