When we pray, instead of trying to produce love in our souls toward God, we should be basking in God's love for us. How foolish to stay indoors in the cold, dark little room off the self, trying to turn on the light and turn up the heat, when we can just go outside into God's glorious Sonlight and receive his rays! How silly to fuss with artificial tanning salons and lotions and lights when the Son is out!

It is faith (trust) that affirms that the light, the ultimate truth, is perfect love. (That's because there is only one God, and He is both.) Therefore faith is the key to this absolute love of truth.

Our faith here can only be in God, not in our faith (that's presumption). He will never abandon us, but we can abandon Him. That's why we must be vigilant.

He desires for us to understand His plans.

And the reason the thoughts kept coming back to me was that I kept turning their sin over in my mind. And so I discovered another of God's principles: We can trust God not only for our emotions but also for our thoughts. As I asked Him to renew my mind, He also took away my thoughts.

What I have to say is of no importance. Let me tell you what the Son of God had to say.

Every day of my life had ended like this: that deep steady voice, that sure and eager confiding of us all to the care of God.

Whenever we cannot love in the old, human way, God can give us the perfect way.

Some things just are, because they are. Because God made them that way.

God can change our circumstances, but sometimes He waits for us to show real desire for change as well as our faith in Him.

We don't need self-confidence we need God-confidence
