Reflect upon your present blessings of which every man has many not on your past misfortunes of which all men have some.

The unthankful heart... discovers no mercies but the thankful heart... will find in every hour some heavenly blessings.

My God! How little do my countrymen know what precious blessings they are in possession of, and which no other people on earth enjoy!

Prayer must be in alignment with the will of God or it's null and void... It it's not God's will, you're not going to get whatever you ask for. God loves you far too much to spoil you in that way. But if it is God's will, God will make a way.

It's not about success and failure. It's not about good days and bad days. It's not about wealth or poverty. It's not about health or sickness. It's not even about life or death. It's about glorifying God in whatever circumstance you find yourself in.

Whatever you don't turn into praise turns into pride.

Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him.

G. K. Chesterton said that his goal in life was to take nothing for granted—not a sunrise, not a smile, not a flower, nothing. That is a truly wonderful approach to life. Don't take anything for granted. Truly appreciate every minute that you have to live. My near-death experience has helped me be better at that. If I hadn't almost died, I wouldn't have figured out how to live.

I discovered that being thankful and experiencing the power and presence of Jesus Christ are tightly entwined. As we practice thankfulness, we experience more of God's transforming grace, God's thereness.

I could never be cynical, not that I think there's anything wrong with cynicism. I think it can be quite funny at times. But I just feel so grateful to be alive.

God is in control, and therefore in EVERYTHING I can give thanks - not because of the situation but because of the One who directs and rules over it.

Good is not always God's will, but God's will is always good.
