The church is like Noah's ark. It stinks, but if you get out of it, you'll drown.

You may have lost hope in Christianity or Christendom or all the institutions, but you have not lost hope in the church. This is the church." At that moment, we decided to stop complaining about the church we saw, and we set our hearts on becoming the church we dreamed of.

And we are just one little cell within the Body, very full of life but only a small part of the whole. Cells are born and cells die, but the Body lives forever.

In our cultural value system, we have divided up human traits between the sexes and consequently have denied each sex a part of its humanity.

We can do more together than we can do alone.

Augustine said, "The church is a whore, but she's our mother." The early Christians said that if we do not accept the church as our mother, we cannot call God our Father. We are not to leave her, but we are to work for her healing, as we would with a dysfunctional parent. Our work is not "para-church" but "pro-church." The church needs our discontent, and we need the rest of the body of Christ.

a generation that stops complaining about the church it sees and becomes the church it dreams of. And

No one built this country on their own. This nation is great because we built it together.

There are no problems we cannot solve together, and very few that we can solve by ourselves.

The essence of leadership is relationship; influencing people to achieve things together that can't be achieved alone.

By ourselves we suffer serious limitations. Together we can be something wonderful.

One man alone can't defeat the forces of evil, but many good people coming together can.
