Doing the right things for the right reason in the right way is the key to Quality of Life!

A simple and a proper function of government is just to make it easy for us to do good and difficult for us to do wrong.

Our American values are not luxuries but necessities, not the salt in our bread, but the bread itself. Our common vision of a free and just society is our greatest source of cohesion at home and strength abroad, greater than the bounty of our material blessings.

Penalties against possession of a drug should not be more damaging to an individual than the use of the drug itself; and where they are, they should be changed. Nowhere is this more clear than in the laws against possession of marijuana in private for personal use... Therefore, I support legislation amending Federal law to eliminate all Federal criminal penalties for the possession of up to one ounce [28g] of marijuana.

America did not invent human rights. In a very real sense… human rights invented America.

I believe that anyone can be successful in life, regardless of natural talent or the environment within which we live. This is not based on measuring success by human competitiveness for wealth, possessions, influence, and fame, but adhering to God's standards of truth, justice, humility, service, compassion, forgiveness, and love.

Despite everything, I believe that people are really good at heart.

Human greatness does not lie in wealth or power, but in character and goodness. People are just people, and all people have faults and shortcomings, but all of us are born with a basic goodness.

A major problem for Black women, and all people of color, when we are challenged to oppose anti-Semitism, is our profound scepticism that white people can actually be oppressed.

We must band together to call for gun-control legislation. We must act in ways that promote the dignity and value of human life.

Once you bring life into the world, you must protect it. We must protect it by changing the world.

I do protect human rights, and I hope I shall always be looked up as a champion of human rights.
